This year's Unity team costs twice as much as previous years.
- Brand new $99 Solo Loop Braided Unity Watch Band for Black History Month 2016, designed by Black Creations and priced higher than the $49 Unity Bands above.
- reports that this year's celebration looks less comprehensive, especially without the new Unity wallpapers or watch faces that accompanied last year's offerings.
- Apple continues its tradition of giving back during Black History Month by supporting organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Urban Arts.
Apple celebrates the black moon in a traditional way: with a new black unit and Apple's earnings.“This year it is used for 49 times the dollar.
In addition to selling you a $99 watch band, Apple emphasizes supporting organizations that "inspire connection and foster creativity."These include the Boys & Girls Club of America, Urban Art in New York, Youth Music in London, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney and Enactas México in Mexico City.
Typically, Apple has a little more to offer to celebrate Black History Month. At least the company is introducing Unity wallpapers and viewing faces. With last year's wallpapers and viewing faces still available, the company announced something new for 2026 and we couldn't find anything. The TV and Apple News app, books, podcasts, and even Apple Maps recommendations are all features from the dark history of contributions from the previous month.
In comparison, this year seems like a small achievement. We get the usual "product you can buy" stuff from Apple (at double the price of previous years) and undisclosed charitable donations, but not much else. We'll update this post if anything arrives before March 1st.
