Lamar Jackson's yards are down, but sacks are up

Throughout his career, running back Lamar Jackson has been able to use his legs like no other quarterback in NFL history. But this year is different.

While Jackson's passing stats are as good as they've ever been this season, he has significantly diminished his ability to gain ground while running the ball and use his mobility to avoid sacks.

Jackson has carried the ball 46 times for 237 yards and eight touchdowns this season alone.He averages career lows in rushing attempts, yards and touchdowns per game.In fact, with seven carries for 11 yards Sunday against the Jets, Jackson is down to an average of 29.6 rushing yards per game this season.Less than 30 yards per game is unheard of for Jackson.No;Before this year, Jackson had never averaged less than 50 rushing yards in a season opener in his career.

Jackson also has difficulty escaping the Pas Rid.He's fired 11 percent of his teens this season, by far the highest firing percentage of any season in his career.

In the first game of the season, Jackson was moving like always, carrying the ball six times for 70 yards and a touchdown against the Bills.He hasn't gained even 50 yards or a touchdown in a game since.

Jackson, who has missed three games with a hamstring injury and is now dieting for the playoffs, could make the Cavens a dangerous opponent, but so far the old saluton.
