As work from home becomes the new norm worldwide, the Emirate of Dubai has introduced a new program that allows long-distance professionals from around the world to relocate to Dubai, while continuing to work for an employer in their own country. People will benefit from Dubai’s zero income tax for individuals. The Dubai government said on Wednesday that the project would allow long-distance workers and their families to relocate to Dubai on an annual basis, promising a ‘strong digital infrastructure’.
Eligibility criteria for this plan are a passport valid for at least six months, a minimum salary of US $ 5,000 per month, a one-year contract valid, proof of employment from the current employer, last month’s salary and three previous months of bank statement. Individuals must also have health insurance with valid UAE coverage.

The Dubai government said in a statement that if the applicant owns a company, they must prove ownership of the company for a period of one year or more, with an average monthly income of US $ 5,000, and three bank statements from previous months. Once approved, those on the plan will be able to access all services in Dubai such as telecommunications, utilities and schooling.
