Extension of IR exemption period for newly recruited employees till 2026 end

The Finance Bill 2023 (PLF) extends the period till December 31, 2026 for exemption from Income Tax (IR) for employees newly recruited by companies, societies or cooperatives.

“Currently, the provisions of Article 57-20 of the CGI (General Tax Code) exempt from income tax the gross monthly salary up to 10,000 dirhams paid by companies created during the period from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2022. Within the limit of 10 employees, this benefit , is granted for a period of 24 months from the date of recruitment of the employee in accordance with the conditions”, the PLF note states.

These conditions provide that the employee is recruited within the framework of an indefinite employment contract and that the recruitment is carried out within the first two years from the date of commencement of operation of the company, association or cooperative.
