Marjorie’s thirteenth song on Taylor Swift’s ninth studio album “Evermore”.
Swift’s sister announced the album as “Folk Tales” and was surprised at the same way she dropped “Folk Tales” on the same day. On Instagram on Thursday, he said Wrote,
To be clear, we couldn’t stop writing songs. To try this more poetically, we feel like we have a choice standing on the edge of the folk forest: to go back or go back or to travel further into the jungle of this music. We chose to wander deeper. I have never done this before. In the past, I always considered albums as a period and I plan the next one after the release of an album. There was something different in folk tales. While creating it, I felt less like I was leaving and I was coming back. I loved the escape I saw in these fictional / fictional stories. I loved the way you welcomed dream scenes and tragedies and epic stories of love. So I kept writing them.
In a YouTube chat with fans, Swift said some of her favorite lines from the amazing new album came from this song. He wrote, “I have about 50 lyrics, but now … it is” you should never forget to please. You never have to be smart.
“Marjorie” song material & hidden Easter eggs
Who is Marjorie? Is she a real person?
Yes she is. “Marjorie” is based on Swift’s grandmother, whose name is Marjorie Taylor. In the song video above, you can see black and white photos of a woman who looks like Swift.
Swift confirmed this fact in an Instagram post describing some of the songs. She wrote, “One [song stars] My grandmother, Marjorie, she still sees me sometimes … only if in my dreams. “

Full here Lyrics For “Marjorie”:
[Verse 1]Never be so kindYou forget to be smart
Never be so smart
You kindly forgot [Pre-Chorus]If I do not know better
I think you are talking to me now
If I do not know better
I think you were still around [Chorus]The dead did not die
The dead did not die
You are alive, you are alive in my head
The dead did not die
The dead did not die
You are alive, you are very alive [Verse 2]Never be so political
You have forgotten your power
Never uses such power
You forget to be polite [Pre-Chorus]If I do not know better
I think you are listening to me now
If I do not know better
I think you were still around [Chorus]The dead did not die
The dead did not die
You are alive, you are alive in my head
The dead did not die
The dead did not die
You are alive, you are very alive [Verse 3]Autumn wakes me up
You loved amber skies so much
Long legs and frozen swimming
You will always pass the place where our feet can touch
I complained the whole way there
The car rides in the back and on the stairs
I should have asked you questions
I should have asked you how it should be
Asked to write this for me
Every grocery store must have a receipt
‘Every scrap of yours will be taken from me
I saw your name Marjorie signed
All of your closets of retreating dreams
How did you leave everything to me [Chorus]The dead did not die
The dead did not die
You are alive, you are alive in my head
The dead did not die
The dead did not die
You are alive, you are very alive [Outro]If I do not know better
I think you are singing to me now
If I do not know better
I think you were still around
I know better
But I still feel around you
I know better
But you are still around
