God of War Gratos is now live on Fortnight Season 5

Update:

Not only has the leak turned out to be true, Kratos is now available in all forms. Since he is a Sony exclusive character, Master Chief is the equivalent of being in the game and being able to play on the PlayStation (although technically something like this is already through the official Minecraft skins).

PlayStation Players get a little exclusive, where if you play Kratos on the PlayStation 5, you get the Armor Kratos style armor as a bonus.

Everything is the same for everyone except this, where for 2,200 V-bucks you get Kratos leather, a Mimir bag fling, Leviathan Ax Pixar and a glider.

Although the leaks have always been true, why is it not explained by being official Kratos and why now? Is he a real PlayStation logo (one of many, but the Astro Pot doesn’t really work at Fortnight) or is it because Sony wants to reveal more about his next game?

If they are, the new, untitled, game, which only happens next Thursday at The Game Awards, was teased for the first time in September.

Original story:

Kratos seems to be one of the next hunters Fortnight, so does that mean the perfect announcement for God’s War 2 is coming?

Fortnight’s new season just started yesterday, yet already the epic games are dropping hints of who the next ‘hunter’ character will be… and not for hunting, lobo or any other fan guesses.

Sonny released an audio recording from the character Jonesy, who describes someone as ‘defeating many gods with his bare hands in uncontrollable rage’.

It may describe some fictional characters, but the most obvious, especially since it’s Sony’s tweet, is Gratos from God of War.

Then the Datamines … shattered all speculation by releasing pictures of Gratos of God of War. (At first we thought he was supposed to be the version of the PlayStation 2 games, but it’s the Knight art style that makes him look younger.)

The addition of Kratos raises a number of points, the first of which is that if Kratos is considered a ‘hunter’, other seasons 5 additions do not have to be defined with bounty hunters or anything other than ‘fighting people’.

Even more interesting, you would think that Kratos would be exclusive to the PlayStation version of Fortnight. So does that mean there will be platform-specific balances for other versions? Could it be Samos Aran for Switches and someone from Hollow for Gears or Xbox? What about Android and PC versions?

This also raises the question of why Kratos. Or at least now why? Usually licensed characters are only added when there is something to sell on Fortnight – as celebrities appear on the chat show – but until now there has been no indication that the new God War is imminent.

The teaser announcement back in September did not confirm the name, but with next week’s game awards, it will mostly be used to show off upcoming games, does that mean Sony will be one of the God of War in existing games?

It seems possible all of a sudden, and if that Samsung Aran speculation is true for the switch maybe even the Metro Prime 4? Although it may take a little while
