Sony has introduced the new Tamron 17-70mm F2.8d III-A VC RXT for ABS-C bodies.
Tamron claims to be the world’s first 17-70mm f2.8 wide 4.1x standard zoom lens.
The lens will retail for $ 99,799 and will be available from January 14, 2021.
With a focal length of 17-70mm, the lens has an equivalent range of 35mm to 25.5-105mm, and has Tamron’s VC (vibration compensation) for stable shots, making it accessible to video operators even at the long end.
The optical construction of the new 17-70mm F2.8 consists of 16 components in 12 groups. Two GM (glass molded asbestos) lens components and one hybrid asbestos lens element are precisely arranged to maintain high resolution performance from edge to edge.
It has a moisture resistant construction with weather seal.
17-70 mm looks very compact and measures 4.7 lengths with a diameter of 74.6 mm. It is only 18.5oz (524 g). Paired with the Sony A6000 Series camera, it will create a uniform layout.
