Ponto will return to the London Palladium at Christmas. Oh yes it happens!

Showman Michael Harrison told me exclusively because we all ‘need a laugh at the end of the year’ that he signed into the Stars cavalry led by Julian Clary; Special guest include Beverly Knight, Ashley Banjo and Diversity, including Paul Gertin, Nigel Havers and Gary Wilmot. The young stars will be Charlie Stump and Jack Someone; Mainly to act Claire’s rudeness.

Called Pondoland, the show will be a spectacular celebration of the art of pantomime, with performances at the Palladium from December 12 to January 3, beginning with a strictly limited, three-and-a-half week run.

Harrison said it was impossible to present a traditional fairytale extravaganza famous for its location in central London, because numbers are limited, on stage and outside, thanks to the rules for self-distance.

Palladium owner Andrew Lloyd Weber has arranged to rearrange the seats in the stalls and circle, reducing the capacity from 2,200 to 1,200.

Producer Harrison noted that LW Theaters has ‘kept the palladium safe in front of the house and behind the stage’ and that the cast and crew will be tested and act as a bubble, a process of diversity.

Claire, who starred in Four Palladium Laughter-One-Tones, told me she ‘didn’t need any compulsion’ to participate.

‘I would have performed in a room above a pub because it excites everyone, it excites us,’ he said of himself and of the palladium regulators.

He has starred in 20 Pantomimes since his debut as Euletite at Cinderella in Brighton, and he would have felt ‘a little lost’ if he had come for the Christmas holidays.

‘It meets a need within me,’ he said. ‘Pando is so much fun – but so liberating, because anything can happen.’ Including ‘including me, wearing ridiculous clothes, behaving rudely to Nigel Havers’.

As we sat in Harrison’s cowardly-safe office suite from True Lane (physically, of course), the couple spent the day developing and inspiring jokes for Pontoland.

Although apparently still a work in progress, I wondered if there was anything glossy (and clean) enough to mention in this area.

‘So far this is a gift,’ Claire said of their efforts: ‘There are jokes from 1,200 people wearing masks.’

Harrison admitted that the virus would definitely be on the agenda ‘because we are always superficial’; They will not be joking about death.

So, give us some, I said.

‘Matt Hancock?’ Claire delivered as she looked up from her script.

‘Save it,’ Harrison fired from behind. ‘No! The black hole is not one. ‘

‘What about Govt Monitor?’ Claire asked. ‘I Company Cover Monitor. Everyone should report to me for testing. Do you want one … ‘Also, I’m afraid we should stop there.

Seriously changing, Harrison warned: ‘This is not a fix. This cannot be the way forward. We can’t have government thinking: ‘Oh, they’re all right. The National Theater puts on something; Such as The Bridge and Open Air. ‘I hope the audience will like what we are planning for Pondoland, but that is only for a year. As far as we know we want to return next year with a fairytale pando. ‘

Tickets are on sale from 10 a.m. today palladiumpantomime.com.
