About the 56th Super Bowl between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals

The Los Angeles Rams The western division of the National Conference won with 12 wins and 5 defeats. In the play-offs, they knocked out Arizona (34-11), Tampa Bay and Tom Brady (30-27) and San Francisco (20-17). They are regulars in the play-offs. They have participated four times in the last five years.

The Cincinnati Bengal They topped the Northern Division of the American Conference (10 wins, 7 defeats). They qualified for the first playoffs in six years and eliminated Las Vegas (26-19) and two convention favorites, Tennessee (19-16) and Kansas City (27-24).

Where will the match take place?

The 56th Super Bowl will be played at Sophie Stadium in Los Angeles, which is nothing more than the Rams Stadium. This is the second time in Super Bowl history that a team has played on home soil (after the Tampa back in 2021). SoFi Stadium is brand new, completed in September 2020. It can accommodate 70,000 to 100,000 visitors.

The Rams have played in three cities in their history and are champions in each: Cleveland in 1945, Los Angeles in 1951 and St. Louis in 2000. They never won by being in the Super Bowl – LA created in 1967. (Failures in 1980 and 2019). Cincinnati has never been a champion. The Bengal team lost the Super Bowl in 1982 and 1989.

Part-time anthems and show

Before the game, the American National Anthem (“Star-Spongled Banner”) will be sung by folk singer Mickey Guyton. The song “America The Beautiful” will be sung by Gene Aiko of R&B Group B2K. The Half Time Show will add pride to hip hop, with a shock: Dr. Tray, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blizz and Kendrick Lamar.

Quarters

Matthew Stafford (34) has been playing in Los Angeles since this season. 12th in NFL history in terms of yards and touchdowns. He played for Detroit for 12 years before joining Stafford LA.

Joe Burrow (25) is only playing in his second pro season. He was a college star at LSU (Champion and MVP in 2019). His new year was cut short by a knee injury. But he came back well and had a great season.

Coaches

Sean McGowan (36) has been the Rams coach since 2017. He has already led the Los Angeles team to the Super Bowl (defeat to New England team in 2019). Previously, he was an assistant coach in Washington.

Jack Taylor (38) has been leading the Bengal team since 2019. In the first year he won only two games. Taylor was previously an assistant coach in Miami … at the Rams. He took care of the quarterbacks.

Other players

Los Angeles has the best receiver of the season with Cooper Gupta (1947 yards). More Odell Beckham, another talented receiver, arrived during the season after years of trouble. The Rams have strong defensive players, including defender Aaron Donald, three-time defensive lineman, linebackers Van Miller and Leonard Floyd and cornerback John Ramsey.

Cincinnati relies mainly on young and talented attackers, including runner Joe Mixon and receivers Ja’mar Chase (playing his first NFL season, already All-Star) and Dee Higgins. Kicker Evan McPherson (22) is also very reliable. He scored 12 field goals in the play-offs. In defense, the Bengal players can count on Trey Hendrickson (14 sacks).
