The US Masters at Augusta National Club in Georgia is the opening Major of the year. The world’s best players will be vying for the top spot in the prestigious tournament at the end of the 72 holes.
Let’s take a look at the players who are most likely to win the Green Jacket this year.
Scottie Scheffler
Last year’s US Masters winner Scottie Scheffler is back at the top of the Official World Golf Ranking following his success in the Players Championship. The American is the +750 favorite in the golf US Masters odds for the event this year.

Scheffler has finished inside the top-20 of the US Masters in each of his three appearances in the tournament. The course suits his game, particularly the par-five holes which he scored well on in 2022.
No player since Tiger Woods in 2002 has won the US Masters in back-to-back years, but Scheffler has found form at exactly the right time in the season. He looks to have a great chance of defending his crown and joining an elite club of golfers who have won this tournament in consecutive renewals.
Jon Rahm
Spaniard Jon Rahm won the US Open in 2021 but, as things stand, that remains his only success in the Majors. The former world number one is one of the hottest players on the PGA Tour right now, as he has had three wins in 2023, with victories coming in the Sentry Tournament of Champions, The American Express, and Genesis Invitational.
Rahm will be looking forward to returning to Augusta again. He has four top-10 finishes in the US Masters, with his best performance coming in 2018 when he placed fourth in the year Patrick Reed won the title.
The European golfer is in a great battle with Sheffler for the top spot in the world rankings this season. Victory in Georgia could help him reclaim that spot from his rival.
Rory McIlroy
To complete the Grand Slam in his career, Rory McIlroy just needs a victory in the US Masters. The four-time Major winner will be hoping he completes the set at Augusta this year. He has consistently been one of the best players in this tournament over the last 10 years, as he has finished in the top-10 seven times in that period.

McIlroy is considered one of the best players of his generation. He is a 23-time winner on the PGA Tour. He won last season’s Tour Championship, and he started the latest campaign with an early victory in the CJ Cup.
The Northern Irishman last won a major in 2014 when he prevailed in the PGA Championship, his second big success of the year following his Open Championship glory. Should he get his hands on the trophy and the Green Jacket in the US Masters, it may well be the biggest victory of his career so far.
The 2023 US Masters takes place between April 6-9 and it will be the 87th edition.
