At around 9 am this Monday, a passenger suddenly turned up at the Terminal 1 police check post. For some unknown reason, he left the place in a hurry and could not be stopped.
This suspicious behavior immediately triggered the procedure presented in this case.
So the terminal was evacuated for a thorough inspection of the building.
The evacuation caused great confusion at the airport, as evidenced by several photos posted on social networks.
Dozens of delayed flights
Shortly before noon, the search turned up no suspicious luggage or weapons. The person behind the alert, which led to the grounding of all flights arriving and departing from Terminal 1, has not been located.
The incident delayed all scheduled morning flights between 8:45 am and 12 am.
On social networks, the airport responded to some internet users who said Terminal 1 was evacuated for “security reasons”. A flight to Venice was delayed for some passengers, such as Bruno Lenglhardt. “I travel a lot and this is the first time we have been given such little information,” the retiree assures.
Please note that Terminal 2 of the airport is currently under construction and is closed. So from last June all flights departed from Terminal 1.
