Volkswagen Tiguan SUV is expected Overtake the golf hatchback Next year in Australia – bringing the models in line with their new global sales rankings – with the updated version coming to local showrooms.

Volkswagen has released preliminary details about the 2021 VW Tiguan SUV, which is expected to arrive shortly from March to June next year.

All models come with advanced safety technology (including city and highway autonomous emergency braking, radar travel control, blind zone alarm, rear cross-traffic alarm and LAN-keeping assistance), wireless Apple Car Play and wireless Android auto, trimming and styling options .

Diesel will return as an option in the regular Tiguan range, but petrol will be available in all grades.

The 2021 lineup will begin with the VW Tiguan Life, the VW Tiguan elegance upgrade, and the VW Tiguan R-line, petrol or diesel combination – and front-drive or all-wheel drive, listed below according to initial details.

Top-end models are also available with Matrix LED headlights and premium audio.

Jeff Schaefer, Volkswagen Australia Product Marketing Manager, said: “We expect the Tiguan to be our best-selling model in the range. “Looking at the return of diesel in the Tiguan Allspace, the diesel power will also return to the new Tiguan, not 140, but the new 147 kW diesel.”

The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan range will arrive in local showrooms in the second quarter of 2021.
